Installation

The installation procedure depends on the context in which CAR and MCAR are to be used. If the context is a computer in which Matlab has already been installed, and the user already knows how to use Matlab, then the installation is quite simple. If the context is a Windows computer in which Matlab has not been installed, or the user is not used to working with Matlab, then a few previous steps are needed. We now describe how to install CAR and MCAR in both situations.

CAR and MCAR as Matlab Toolboxes

All you need to do is to download CAR and MCAR from our web site (free download area), and execute the scripts car.m (or mcar.m) in order to compute simple or multiple correspondence analysis. Please note that you can download data in the usual way for Matlab.

CAR and MCAR as stand-alone releases

In order to use the stand-alone releases of CAR and MCAR, you need to install the Windows 64-bit version of the Matlab Compiler Runtime (MCR) for R2015a. This package can be downloaded from the MathWorks Web site at the following address:

http://www.mathworks.com/products/compiler/mcr/index.html

or directly from our site (free download area). You will find a video to show you the few steps needed to install MCR. Please note that you will need administrator rights to run MCRInstaller. The procedure can take a few minutes.

After the installation of MCR, you can download CAR and MCAR from our web site (free download area), and execute the application scar.exe (or mcar.exe) in order to compute simple or multiple correspondence analysis.
